Short Biography:

Dr. Mohammad Ferdows is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and Group leader of the Research Group of Fluid Flow Modeling and Simulation at the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research focuses on the study of fluid flow (Convective Bounday Layer flow, Multiphase Flow) from the Science (Fundamental) to the Engineering (Applied) so that we can further our understanding of their properties and develop solutions for their applications. Bio-Engineering Framework: Vascular Coronary Artery & flow abnormality, Stenoses Artery due to plaques, Bio Medical Imaging (CTA), Visualization of Hymedynamic phenomena. Develop and apply computational methods to measure and predict the composition and fractional occupancy of the cavities in clathrate hydrates for any given temperature and pressure that represents a fundamental study that builds upon electronic structure interactions and molecular ensembles to determine structural properties to phase equilibria. Research is based on theoretical, and computational approaches, so that a comprehensive understanding can developed for flow and molecular mechanism.

He undertook postdoctoral work at Japan Atomic Energy Agency; National Cheng Kung University. Also, he worked as a Researcher at Tokyo Metropolitan University; University Sains Malaysia; Shizuoka University and Osaka University. He was a Visiting Professor at The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology; Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece; Louisiana Tech University, USA. He was a Professor in the department of Mathematics at the King Abdulaziz University. Meantime, he was (and is) working in adjunct faculty positions in various Universities in Bangladesh.

In recognition of his research excellence, Prof. Ferdows was awarded the prestigious National Science Foundation Fellowship (NSF, USA); The excellent Research activity award from Bangladesh Academy of Science ; The Research achievement Ibrahim Gold medel's award at the University of Dhaka; The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey; JAEA Fellowship Japan; Center for excellence fellowship: National Cheng Kung University; Fellowship from Yazaki Memorial Foundation for Science and Technology; Toyota Foundation Fellowship; Monbukagakusho Scholarship (Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology); Fellowship from Twenty University The Netherlands (offered); Fellowship from Liverpool University (offered); Fellowship from University of Dhaka; Dean's Award from the Faculty of Science at the University of Dhaka for excellent contribution in the field of scientific research work.

He is a member of the American Mathematical Society, life member of Bangladesh Mathematical society, and Bangladesh Mechanical Engineering society.

His research has resulted over 354 publications in referred Journals, Conferences, Symposiums and Workshops. He is serving as a referee in more than 100 journals around the globe. He is (Current and past) on the editorial member of several Journals and Conferences committee. He delivered more than 30 invited talks at the national and international congress.
