Monira Parveen, Former Chairperson and Assistant Professor of the Department of Dance of the University of Dhaka. She is a renowned classical dancer (Kathak), dance choreographer and an ICCR scholar. She has completed her Bachelor of Honors and Master of Arts from Rabindra Bharati University under ICCR scholarship. She received a Gold Medal in M.A. (1st Class 1st position) for her Highest Cumulative GPA Point from the Department of Dance of Rabindra Bharati University from West Bengal State Government Keshari Nath Tripathi and the Vice Chancellor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury to the convocation of Rabindra Bharati University in 2014. She also earned two more Gold Medals on the National level of Inter-University Dance Competition, Bangladesh in 2006.
Monira performs regularly at different programs and festivals at home and abroad which are organized by the Ministry of Culture, Bangladesh; Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy; Bangladesh High Commission, Kolkata; High Commission of India, Bangladesh; ICCR; the Government of West Bengal and the Government of India. She has been recognized by and invited to many different TV Channels.
Monira is also involved in various research activities. She has already published seven articles and attained many National and International Seminars organized by UGC, University of Dhaka, Jatio Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Trishal, Rabindra Bharati University, Government of West Bengal, Kolkata. She is currently busy with research as well as the new production of Kathak Dance.
