A new trust fund titled “Bibekananda History Fund” has been established at the Department of History of Dhaka University (DU). Swami Dhrubeshananda, Principal of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission handed over a cheque for Tk. 10 lac to the Chairman of the Department of History Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Jamal on November 08, 2017 at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to set up this fund.

 Vice-Chancellor of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Abu. Md. Delwar Hossain, former Dean Prof. Dr. Kazi Shahidullah and some other teachers were present, among others,  on this occasion.

Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in BA Honors examination from the Department of History of DU will be awarded gold medal.  Besides, some poor but meritorious students of the department will be given scholarship.
