Eighty one meritorious students from ten departments under the Faculty of Biological Sciences of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Dean’s Award” for their excellent academic results in BS Honors examinations of session 2015-16. Among them, 24 male and 57 female students have received this award.  Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards among the brilliant students at a function held today December 6, 2017 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.

Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof. Dr. M Imdadul Hoque presided over the function while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad and Treasurer Prof.    Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin addressed it as special guests. Chairpersons of the various departments declared the names of awardees. Chairperson of the Department of Microbiology Prof. Humaira Akhter gave vote of thanks.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to prepare themselves with the combination of merit, patriotism, honesty and moral values.  He stressed the need for cultivation of self purification instead of making criticism to other persons.  Nobody should misuse of power in any sphere of life, he added.
