Following visits to Guangzhou and Shanghai, the 2025 Delegation of Young Leaders from Bangladesh to China visited Beijing. On the morning of June 18, the delegation took the high-speed train to Beijing, experiencing the “China Speed”. The delegation members were amazed by the smoothness and speed of the train, and they raved about China’s achievements in transportation infrastructure development, and expressed hope for a similar transportation network in Bangladesh in the future.
On the afternoon of June 18, the delegation visited the Zhongguancun Science Park in Miyun District, touring the BAIC New Energy Stelato Super Factory. They observed the entire manufacturing and assembly process, from parts production to new vehicle inspection, learning about the intelligent and green transformation of China’s automotive industry. Many members expressed hope that Bangladesh can also introduce such advanced technology to upgrade its own automotive industry, reduce dependence on traditional gasoline-powered vehicles, and contribute to environmental protection.
Later, the delegation visited the Future Park of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to learn about cutting-edge advancements in China’s atmospheric and environmental governance. Researchers provided detailed introductions on China’s progress and achievements in air pollution prevention and control, climate change research, and other areas. The members commended China’s environmental governance efforts, acknowledging the nation’s active steering role in addressing global environmental challenges.
On the afternoon of June 19, the delegation observed a press briefing of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) at the Press Hall. In the solemn and dignified conference hall, the spokesperson answered questions from international journalists calmly, confidently and methodically. The members gained a deeper understanding of China’s constructive role in international affairs, noting their wishes for more profound exchanges and collaboration between China and Bangladesh in the diplomatic field to jointly uphold world peace and stability.
Afterwards, the delegation visited China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). Wang Xiangdong, Deputy General Manager of CCECC, Zhang Chaoming, General Manager of the Nepal Branch, and Liu Xingquan, Deputy Manager of the Risk Control and Compliance Department of the South Asia Regional Company under the CCECC, attended the symposium to introduce the corporation’s development history, particularly the growth and local operations of its South Asia branches. The members noted that CCECC has contributed to Bangladesh’s infrastructure construction and they looked forward to more Bangladeshi talents joining CCECC in the future to jointly promote cooperation and advancement in infrastructure building between the two countries.
On the evening of June 19, the delegation was invited to an event organized by the Bangladesh-China Youth and Student Association. Bangladeshi youth studying in China shared their learning experiences, depicting how China’s advanced educational philosophies and abundant resources helped them grow. The members found such exchange activities highly meaningful, conducive to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the youth of the two countries, and laying a solid public foundation for the long-term development of bilateral relations.
The delegation fully immersed themselves in China’s history and culture during their time in Beijing, visiting the Ancient China exhibition at the National Museum of China, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall. The members said that this field trip to experience Chinese history and culture was immensely beneficial, and they will share what they saw and learned with others upon returning home, helping more people in Bangladesh to understand China’s long history and splendid culture.
