"Welcome Aboard: Orientation for the 31st Batch of the Department of Management, University of Dhaka"
The orientation program for the 31st batch of BBA students at the Department of Management, University of Dhaka, took place today, July 9, 2025 (Wednesday), at the Prof. Dr. Abdullah Farouq Multipurpose Conference Hall of the Faculty of Business Studies.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the Treasurer of the University of Dhaka, serving as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted that students gaining admission to Dhaka University have earned it through talent and dedication. He emphasized the significance of the university's operation using public taxpayers’ money and the crucial role students play as vital stakeholders in transforming society and shaping the nation. He called upon students to develop into skilled human resources, underscoring the importance of engaging in co-curricular activities, sports, and social initiatives alongside academic pursuits to foster well- rounded development.
Prof. Dr. Mahmood Osman Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, delivered an inspiring speech, sharing his wisdom and outlining the faculty’s vision towards achieving academic excellence. Md. Mojibur Rahman, Managing Director of Janata Bank PLC, also addressed the gathering as a special guest, inspiring students with his insights and experiences. The most senior professor, Mr. Md. Ali Akkas, was present there as the Guest of Honor and delivered a speech to newcomers. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Management. All faculty members & staff of the Department of Management were present, supporting and participating in the event.
On behalf of the new students, Mesching Marma and Md. Belal Hossain shared their thoughts and aspirations.
In addition to the speeches, various student activities were showcased, including the Management Debating Forum, Management Club, and sports teams for cricket and football, highlighting vibrant student engagement and extracurricular initiatives aimed at fostering leadership, teamwork, and holistic development among students.
