The Department of Law running under the Faculty of Law began its journey from the foundation of the University in 1921. The Department offers four-year LLB (Honours) and one-year Master of Laws (General and Specialized) degrees, with curricula that has been designed to ensure that students acquire substantive knowledge, skills, and values essential for practicing law in the 21st century. The Department with the generous funding of BLAST runs a Clinical Legal Education Programme, to provide an intensive training necessary for analytical thinking and active lawyering. The Dhaka University Moot Court Society has been organising and participating in various Moot Court Competitions- nationally and internationally. The Department in collaboration with the UNHCR is offering certificate course on Refugee Law. Moreover, apart from regularly organising seminars and public lectures the Department is proud to offer a number of scholarships for the students.
