Currently, I have been serving as Professor of Botany at the University of Dhaka. I obtained B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (Thesis) degrees securing First Class Second and First Class First positions in order of merit, repectively, from the Department Botany, Uniersityof Dhaka. I did my Ph.D. from UGAS, Iwate University, Japan and Post-Doctoral from SLU, Uppsala, Sweden. My areas of research are Plant Ecology, Plant Molecular Ecology. Ecosystem Ecology and Environmental Science. Currently, I have been conducting research on adaptation of plants, ecosystem functions, assessment of carbon stocks, ecology of exotic plants, interactions between plants and abiotic stresses (salinity, arsenic).
